Community Programs

The Longmont Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to providing opportunities for children, seniors, and under-served community members to experience live orchestral music through our Education & Community Based Programs.

  • Adopt-A-School Program

Members of the Longmont Symphony string quartet, brass quintet, percussion ensemble and woodwind quintet perform in over 30 SVVSD schools annually, reaching more than 5,000 2nd-5th grade students.

  • Annual 5th Grade Concert

The LSO performs two free concerts at Vince Brand Civic Auditorium, reaching over 2,400 5th grade students. For many students, this is their first experience hearing a live full orchestra.

  • Mentors in Music

The LSO musicians mentor both Middle School and High School instrumental music students.

  • July 4th Summer Concert

The LSO performs at Thompson Park in Longmont for this free community concert, which has become an annual family tradition.

  • Pop-Up Concerts

LSO Ensembles can be heard at special events throughout the downtown area and in concerts at parks.

  • Sensory Friendly and Family Concerts

The LSO is committed to providing multiple low cost performances for families and the neurodiverse community.

  • Senior Concerts

LSO musicians perform concerts yearly at various senior facilities throughout Longmont.

  • Ticket Outreach Program

We offer complimentary tickets for select concerts to those organizations who help LSO’s under-served communities.
